Milk logistics must not be interrupted
Date 03.15.2020 | Category: News
On 14 March, EDA (European Dairy Association) sent a letter to DG SANTI and DG AGRI, which are responsible for health and agriculture, and to the ambassadors of the Member States and the UK in Brussels. The letter calls for all plans to contain the Covid-19 pandemic to include a commitment not to interrupt the logistics chain for the perishable raw material milk. This must also apply across borders. The dairies have already put in place special emergency plans for milk collection and transport, which rule out any further spread of the disease, notes EDA.
