It may be possible for a laboratory to have satisfactory z scores all around and yet an unsatisfactory RLP. Precision under repeatability conditions Whenever replicate data are available, PT data can also be used to assess the precision under repeatability conditions. The following Figure displays the Lischer plot for the FDA Milk PT 2013 (Coliforme). This plot shows the level of disagreement between replicates or analysts within the lab on the y-axis, and the lab bias on the x-axis (averaged over replicates or analysts). A large bias is acceptable only when there is low disagreement, and a large disagreement is acceptable only when there is low bias. IT requirements PT data analysis has specific requirements regarding the use of validated software systems, data management, data exchange, statistical calculations and reporting. It relies on advanced statistical methods as published in international standards. As any dysfunction can have severe consequences for participants, comprehensive validation is required, especially for the statistics. Furthermore, all steps carried out must be retrievable from a digital logbook. This is necessary in order to track every data management, statistical analysis and evaluation action taken, should the need arise. Statistical analysis and charts in this presentation were obtained by means of the PT software package PROLab Plus. PROLab Plus is reference software in Germany and used in the U.S. e.g. by FDA, NIST and AOCS.
