Thomas Kützemeier Editor-in-Chief www.mcongressconsult.de Dear Reader, with the Anuga FoodTec coming closer we wish to reiterate some of the key features of this world-famous trade fair in 2015: With a strong growth rate in 2009 and 2012 the triennial Anuga FoodTec 2015 is expected to attract more than 45000 visitors from 130 countries, with a significant increase from countries in eastern Europe. From 2015 onwards, Anuga FoodTec (AFT) will continue to be the lead trade fair for food processing and packaging technologies. At the same time AFT will extend its competence for Food Safety, Food Analytics and Food Ingredients. Koelnmesse and mcongressconsult, an international consultancy based in Bonn, Germany have signed a contract on the establishment of an innovative concept with a focus on modern analytical tools for the food industry: during the 2015 AFT, the new LiveLab concept will showcase a special mixture of exhibition and congress-style live event supported by a new international pre- and post-communication campaign. During the daily LiveLab sessions on 24-27 March 2015, independent experts will discuss all major issues of Food Safety and Food Analytics in a LiveLab setting. Scientists and suppliers will demonstrate their latest findings and innovative products. With Food Analysis and Food Safety rising on the corporate agenda of many Food manufacturers, Koelnmesse is paving the way into the future with this strategic decision. The Cologne Trade Fair will attract the leading suppliers of analytical and QM tools as well as Quality Managers and Laboratory Staff from all major Food Manufacturers around the globe. Don’t miss to be part of it! More than 700 exhibitors have already registered by the 31 May early bird deadline, many more are expected. This second issue of the electronic magazine eFOOD-Lab International 2-14 focuses on food identification and species differentiation as well as traceability software solutions. I hope you enjoy reading these insights into the magic of latest analytical findings. Best regards Thomas Kützemeier EDITORIAL 2 2/14 ¤ eFOOD-Lab international
