CLITRAVI (Centre de Liaison des Industries Transformatrices de Viandes de l'Union Européene) has indicated Milan as the venue for its 2015 general assembly. The Plenary Session will be held on May 21, during Meat-Tech. The event will gather top meat industry players from all over Europe at Fieramilano.

This announcement confirms the central role Meat-Tech – organized by Ipack-Ima Spa – has conquered as an international, highly specialized event for the meat industry business community. The first edition of the exhibition will take place from May 19th to 23rd 2015 as part of the great global event held at Fieramilano, which also features IPACK-IMA, Dairytech, Fruit Innovation, Intralogistica Italia and Converflex in conjunction with the EXPO 2015.

The 2015 CLITRAVI assembly at Meat-Tech will feature the participation of European and Italian institutional authorities, which will join companies in a debate on key issues for the growth of the industry. These include regulatory developments, the current economic situation, evolution in nutrition and advanced research and development topics.

About 40 participants are expected to join the assembly, including meat processing industrialists from the EU’s 28 member states. Among these, the association’s board members; president Robert Volut (from Federation Francaise des Industriels Charcutiers Traiteurs); and vice-presidents Tamàs Eder (PR and Corporational Concern manager of industry-leading Hungarian food group Bonafarm), Giorgia Vitali (owner of Salumificio Vitali and Representative of Assica) and Jos Goebbels (from the Dutch Meat Association).

Clitravi is the European association representing meat processing companies. It gathers 28 European national associations representing about 13 thousand companies producing 14 million tons of meat products, generating revenues for over € 75 billion and employing 350 thousand people.
