Riga Food 2014 food trade fair, gathering industry experts, specialists, representatives of the State and non-governmental organisations, entrepreneurs and gourmets from all over the world, was successfully completed on 7 September in Kipsala International Exhibition Centre.

682 companies from 37 countries took part in Riga Food 2014. 49 % of the participants were Latvian manufacturers, 23 % – Latvian importers and wholesalers, whereas 28 % of the companies were from foreign countries. The fair offered to visit national collective stands of 11 countries – Belarus, Georgia, Estonia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Canada, Poland, Hungary, Uzbekistan. For the first time the visitors of the fair had the possibility to view the national stand of Ukraine. Within a period of four days the exhibition was attended by 37, 783 interested persons, which is 2% more than the year before. Riga Food Project Manager Rolands Nežborts says: “It was the largest fair in the history of Riga Food. In the previous year the increase of participants comprised 14%, and this year this trend continues – the number of participants grew by another 4%. It is a sign that, despite the complicated political and economic situation in the world, the food industry is developing. I have received confirmation from the participants that they have met new clients and cooperation partners in the fair, they are planning new joint projects and they have received references, which are very useful for product development.” He also adds: “To develop the professional part of the fair even more, in 2015 the time of the course of the Riga
