DSM have reached an agreement with the owners of the specialty dairy and cheese culture solution provider Koninklijke CSK Food Enrichment C.V. ("CSK") to acquire 100% of the company. The purchase price amounts to approximately €150m.
With the acquisition of CSK, DSM will further strengthen its product portfolio and application know-how as well as its expertise in the Food & Beverage sector, especially in the complementary area of taste, texture and organic preservation solutions for semi-hard cheeses such as Gouda and Edam. The transaction includes CSK's modern dairy application centre in the heart of the Food Valley in Wageningen (Netherlands). In addition, the high-tech fermentation plant in Leeuwarden (Netherlands) will be integrated into DSM's global production network and will provide additional production capacity for a range of products in the strategically important European region.
